HTML Email Developer

The job:

Traction is looking for an HTML Email Developer. We are not just looking for an exceptional coder. The position is full time and is based onsite with our client, the world's leading technology company, in Sunnyvale, CA (shuttle from various Bay Area locations available). Only locale SF Bay Area candidates will be considered (no relocation offered). 

What you'll (mostly) do:

  • Produce modern HTML email from design comps, ensuring exceptionally high quality
  • Ensure rendering consistency of email campaigns in webmail and app-based email clients (Gmail, Outlook.com, iOS Mail, Windows Mail, etc.)
  • Manage the email send process using a proprietary email broadcast system
  • Optimize graphic elements for desktop and mobile devices
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the project managers, web developers, QA testers, and designers

What you’ll (mostly) bring:

  • Demonstrable expertise in developing email designed to render well on desktop and mobile devices
  • Familiarity with HTML email-rendering bugs and workarounds
  • Experience with tools such as Email on Acid and Litmus
  • Ability to hand-code HTML
  • Experience with SASS, but also able to hand-code CSS
  • Experience with version control systems such as GIT and/or Subversion
  • Exceptionally high attention to detail, maintaining design integrity during the build process
  • Familiarity with W3C Standards and Specifications
  • General proficiency in Photoshop
  • Some JavaScript skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly and professionally interact with clients

Extra Credit:

  • Skills in advanced SASS, JavaScript, Node, or familiarity with Unix Shell
  • Experience with internationalization of web content or email
  • Knowledge of accessibility specifications
